Celebrate small success. Do not wait for the big ones or you may become discouraged
Be sure to start off with good habits to balance work and home life. You don’t want to get burnt out
Get yourself an accountability partner. Someone that you can trust who will hold you to your timelines and balancing your life.
Get a mentor if you can. This person may serve as your accountability partner too. But if not they can be different people. You can use them to get ideas from. They can help you avoid some costly mistakes and they can offer you some better ways to do things.
Surround yourself with positive people. People that are going to encourage you. People who can give constructive advice. Do not be constantly in the company of those people who are doing nothing with there lives or people who criticize often but are never able to compliment or give good advice because they will pull you down eventually.
Make sure to do your homework. Keep abreast of what is happening in the relevant markets. This can give you an edge
Get good sleep at night because this would help you to feel refreshed the next day. You don’t want to feel tired all the time.
Do not neglect your diet and exercise. They keep you energized and help you avoid putting on weight. You will feel better about yourself if you do.
Try to remember why you are doing this. You can put a quote above your desk or pictures of your family on your desk. This may help you to remain focused on the important things in life.
Finally also remember to make time to pray daily. Ask God to help you and to guide you. Read the scriptures. Know some encouraging scriptures that you can repeat to strengthen your resolve to continue. Here are some scriptures to reflect on: So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint Isaiah 30:41; Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
